A celebration of cycling, a celebration of life
The Raven Rock Ramble is a century (100-mile) bicycle ride that explores
the four-county area (Wake, Harnett, Lee, and Chatham) around
Raven Rock State Park.
Proceeds from the event go to benefit the
UNC Kidney Center for direct patient services.
Since its start in 2002, the Raven Rock Ramble has raised over $128,000
toward kidney health and awareness.
The Raven Rock Ramble endorses cyclist safety and responsibility as promoted by The
Peleton Project.
| The 2013 Raven Rock Ramble was what I'm tempted to
call the "Windchill Edition". Temperatures were in the low
50's and NE winds were 15-20 mph, but the projected rain held off and 530
riders were able to ride without incident. Of course, we had the
awesome Moe's burritos ands Maola chocolate milk at the finish, along with
homemade goodies and Zonda's fudge.
It will take a while to calculate the totals, but we should again clear over $20,000 for
the UNC Kidney Center. Pictures have been posted to facebook.
We'll do all this again next year! Registration will open
December 1. Thanks for everyone's encouragement and
support.
