Routes

Are the routes hilly?

Well, yes. I first claimed that they weren't (much), meaning that I had not made the routes deliberately hilly as I've done with other rides. Folks kept asking me where I found all those hills, so the consensus seem to be that the routes are less than flat. Please see the Routes page for a detailed description of what to expect.

Are there stores on the route?

Yes, and they're marked on route map. (See the Routes page for the map and cue sheet for each route.)

Here are some important notes:

  1. There are no stores directly on the 10-mile route. There is a store at the top of Rex Road if you turn right.
  2. Bob and Nan's Citgo (location of sag stop 1) is closed on Sunday mornings.
  3. There is a store on the right as you cross 401 at the 32.4 mile mark on the 100 mile route. The next store on the route isn't until you reach Sag Stop 3 - 36 miles later!

Registration

What happens if I pre-register and then can't ride?

Your registration packet, including your tee shirt, will be available at Spin Cycle in Cary the week following the ride.  Any unclaimed packages will be mailed within the following two weeks.  Your registration fee is not refundable, but will still serve as a tax-deductable donation to the National Kidney Foundation.

Are there special rates for familes?

Yes! If three or more family members are riding, then the registration fee for the third and subsequent family members is just $10. For example, a family of four could register for $80 ($30 each for the first two, $10 each for the second two).

Miscellaneous

Where are there bathrooms?

There will be bathrooms at Harris Lake County Park - see the map on the News and announcements page for details.

There will also be bathrooms at all sag stops. Stores on the route are marked on the route map.
