RoutesAre the routes hilly?
Well, yes. I first claimed that they weren't (much), meaning that I had not made the routes deliberately hilly as I've done with other rides. Folks kept asking me where I found all those hills, so the consensus seem to be that the routes are less than flat. Please see the Routes page for a detailed description of what to expect. --DLCAre there stores on the route?
Yes, and they're marked on route map. (See the Routes page for the map and cue sheet for each route.)
Here are some important notes:
- There are no stores directly on the 10-mile route. There is a store at the top of Rex Road if you turn right.
- There is a Dollar Store on the right as you cross 401 at the 32.4 mile mark on the 100 mile route. The next store on the route isn't until you reach Broadway - 27 miles later!
RegistrationWhat happens if I register and then can't ride?
You can transfer your slot to another rider using the Transfer/Deferal Form up until April 10.
Otherwise, your tee shirt will be mailed to you within two weeks following the ride. Your registration fee is not refundable, but will still serve as a tax-deductable donation to the Raven Rock Ramble. Are there special rates for familes?
No, we are no longer offering special rates for familes as this event consistently sells out.Can I change what distance I ride?
Yes. The preferred way is by editing your registration data and making whatever changes you like via the My Registrations page. Bibs (which list your distance) and tee shirts are ordered 3 weeks before the ride, so it helps if you can make any changes by then. That said, you can always change your distance choice, even after the ride has started. The sag stops are supplied with extra cue sheets.
MiscellaneousWhere are there bathrooms?
There will be bathrooms at Harris Lake County Park - see the map on the News and announcements page for details.
There will also be bathrooms at all sag stops. Stores on the route are marked on the route map.
